In 2007, Amy had an appointment to give an arborist consult in Dallas for two red maple trees that were looking sick. When she pulled up to the house she immediately recognized it as the house where her family lived when she was born. She called her parents to tell them and she learned that her dad had planted those two maple trees by hand in 1971! Unfortunately one tree had root rot and needed to be removed, but the other was put on a Plant Health Care program and is still alive today due to fertilizing and insect control.
In 2011, Amy was once again out working in Dallas. She was chatting with the homeowner after providing him with a free estimate and he said “My daughter would be perfect for this job!” He went on to say that his daughter, Hannah, had just graduated from Texas A&M and was looking for a job. Hannah began working for Texas Tree Surgeons two weeks later and is now our Managing Arborist. She is passionate about trees and her job and recently became a Board Certified Master Arborist (the second female BCMA in the state of Texas).
