What to Expect During Tree Installation from Texas Tree Surgeons

To ensure that your tree install is smooth, and safe, here is an overview of what you can expect.
Once you have ordered your tree online or over the phone you will receive a confirmation email immediately. After your tree has been received from the nursery our team will call you on the day of planting to let you know when we are on the way.
Pre Planting Day
Utility Safety: 811 Call Before You Dig
To ensure a safe installation, we will contact 811, the national call-before-you-dig service. Utility companies will visit your property in the days before planting to mark underground lines with paint and small utility flags.
- Please do not remove or disturb the flags or paint markings.
- If the markings are missing or unclear, we may need to reschedule for safety reasons.
Irrigation & Private Lines
While 811 will mark public utilities, private systems such as irrigation lines are not included. If you know the location of your sprinkler heads, irrigation lines, or other underground features (like landscape lighting wires), please mark them before planting day. This helps our crew avoid unnecessary damage.
On Planting Day
Our planting team will:
- Carefully install your new tree(s) following industry best practices.
- Water and mulch your tree to help it settle into its new environment.
- Remove any excess soil and debris, leaving your landscape clean and tidy.
We typically do not stake trees unless absolutely necessary. If your tree develops a noticeable lean after planting, please contact us—we will return to stake the tree if needed.
Aftercare Instructions
At the completion of planting, our team will provide you with detailed aftercare guidelines. These will cover watering, mulching, and monitoring your tree during its establishment period (the first year is especially important). Proper care is key to ensuring your tree grows healthy, strong, and beautiful.

Thank you for choosing Texas Tree Surgeons for your tree planting! We’re excited to provide you with a beautiful new addition to your landscape.
Planting trees helps save energy and reduce electricity bills by noticeably lowering temperatures around your property.
These benefits impact not only your personal property but your neighborhood and community.

CUSTOMIZED PLANNING FOR YOUR LANDSCAPE
Prior to planting your new tree an arborist will work with you to find the best location on your property to optimize tree health and growth once installed. Depending on the size of the tree and how long ago the tree was removed from a spot will determine if that location can be used to replant.

PROPER WATERING TECHNIQUE
Before leaving we do one more final soaking once the tree has been planted. We will also leave a detailed care guide and a 5 gallon blue bucket with soaker holes to help you water your tree properly. Watering your tree with two buckets full every other day for the first two weeks will set your tree up for long-term growth.
